Courtney Walcott is a partner at City Action Lab, an urban research and consulting collective. He is also founder and principal of Civic Society, a social enterprise consulting firm that focuses on human rights-based policy design, good governance, strategic planning, and youth civic education and engagement. In previous roles, Courtney served as a City Councillor in Calgary, Alberta where he led the housing and affordability portfolio on Council and stewarded Home is Here: the City of Calgary’s Housing Strategy. Courtney is also an award winning educator, having taught high school Social Studies and English. He has a B.A. in History from Mount Royal University with a focus on historical systems of oppression, a B.Ed from the University of British Columbia, and is currently completing a Masters of Public Policy from the University of Calgary.
