Gabriela is a lifelong learner and educational developer. She has worked as a curriculum developer, instructional designer, and adjunct faculty at a range of post-secondary institutions in Canada and the EU, with additional leadership roles in the non-profit sector. She has redesigned academic programs for accreditation, developed templated approaches to coursework packs, engaged in Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, and created quality assurance frameworks. Her research interests include Universal Design for Learning, EDIA, and cognitive presence in online learning. After completing a PhD in history focusing on immigration, ethnic, and religious Canadian interwar history from the University of Toronto, she pursued further certification in instructional design and educational development. In her spare time, she has been known to debate the importance of the Oxford comma with anyone who would listen and has loved giving guidance on choosing wall paint colours.
