Galina Safonenko brings over 20 years of experience in corporate and educational sectors. She holds CMA, CPA accounting designations, and a Bachelor of Commerce. During her career in the corporate sector, which included roles at Maple Leaf Foods and Rogers Communications, she provided financial and strategic support for mid- and upper-level management, helping to strengthen both companies’ financial positions. Her curiosity and desire for further professional growth led her to the educational sector. During her six-years with Centennial College, she held a variety of roles in finance, managing operating and capital budgets, providing business administration support, facilitating external audits, and administering restricted funds. Galina comes to the School of Cities from the Department of Classics, where she was the department Business Officer.
